£17.45

Red Wine | Bottle Size: 75cl | ABV: 13.5%

Bottle Notes

A polished and generously fruited Ripasso from Valpolicella, offering aromas of dried berries, cherry and soft spice. The palate is full and rounded, with layers of ripe cherry, cranberry and berry fruit, lifted by a gentle savoury edge and a subtle hint of bitter almond. Richer and more textured than a standard Valpolicella, it remains fresh, supple and very easy to enjoy.

Tasting Notes

The wine opens with bright red fruit, dried berries and cherry compote, followed by notes of plum, spice and a touch of cocoa. On the palate it is medium-full bodied, with smooth tannins, vibrant acidity and a velvety texture that gives the wine both charm and structure. The finish is persistent, balanced and softly warming.

Food Pairing

This is an excellent partner for roast meats, mushroom dishes, braised beef and rich pasta. It also works beautifully with grilled sausages, hard cheeses and hearty vegetarian plates, making it a very versatile food wine.

Producer Story

Luigi Righetti is a respected family producer in Veneto, known for wines that combine traditional methods with real drinkability. Campolieti takes its name from “happy fields,” reflecting both the vineyards and the wine’s welcoming, broad appeal. Made from Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella, it is produced using the traditional Ripasso method, where the wine is re-fermented on Amarone lees to add depth, richness and complexity.

Why We Picked It

We chose Luigi Righetti's Valpolicella Ripasso because it's the kind of wine that stops to make you think. Vibrant cherry richness, fresh lift, and that velvety depth we were hunting for in great Ripasso. From a family who've poured their heart into Veneto vines for generations, it's polished yet unpretentious, full of soul that makes every sip resonate.
