Bottle Notes

A beautifully balanced Sauternes with ripe citrus, honey, marmalade and creamy, dessert-like richness. Botrytis has given the wine depth and complexity, while bright acidity keeps it fresh, lifted and never cloying. Generous, polished and intensely rewarding, it shows all the charm of classic sweet Bordeaux with a graceful, elegant finish.

Tasting Notes

The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of citrus peel, crème brûlée, dried currants and honey. On the palate, the wine is rich and creamy, with notes of marmalade, dried raisins and crème anglaise, balanced by a lively acidity that keeps everything in harmony. The finish is long, smooth and beautifully composed.

Food Pairing

This Sauternes is a natural match for fruit tarts, chocolate mousse, crème brûlée and baked desserts. It also works beautifully with blue cheese, roasted stone fruit and foie gras, where its sweetness and acidity can create a superb balance.

Producer Story

Château Rieussec is a historic name in Sauternes and one of the great estates of the appellation. Acquired by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) in 1984, the estate underwent a major revival, with careful vineyard management, restricted yields and meticulous cellar work all contributing to its modern reputation. With its high proportion of Sémillon and use of barrel fermentation and ageing, Rieussec is known for producing wines of richness, precision and lasting pedigree.

Why We Picked It

We wanted a dessert wine in the collection that really stood out, and this one does exactly that. It has the richness and elegance of classic Sauternes, but with just enough freshness to keep it bright and balanced. It feels special without being heavy, which makes it such a lovely bottle to offer.
